South East Auckland Renovation Before and After

Walking into your home and sighing because you just wish it was more modern, you wish there wasn’t so much that needed repairing or you wish it was no longer a dated shade of orange is never a good sign. Although you can choose whatever design or colour you like for your home, when you choose bold colours and designs you are usually left wanting to change them after a few years. Change = money. If you stick with the tried and true method of functionality, practicality and neutral tones you will find that you get much better value for money. Our client came to Renovations NZ wanting to update their house. Although there was a neutral palate with white walls and wooden detailing, the kitchen was tired, the carpet had lost its tension and had started to ripple and overall the house looked worn. Ramin and his team got to work. Whilst the floor design worked when the house was built, our client found that each room in the living area was quite cut off from the next. This left the living areas feeling disjointed. If you were in the Kitchen it was difficult to talk to people in the Lounge and if you were cooking in the Kitchen there was no way to keep an eye on what the kids were doing in the Lounge.   After checking that the walls were not load bearing, Ramin opened up the wall that separated the Lounge from the Dining Room. This gave a much better sense of space and a lot more actual room for people to enjoy. When...

Who Is Considered A “Renovation Specialist”?

Who Is Considered A “Renovation Specialist”?
Often when we want someone who really knows their “stuff” we turn to a specialist. A specialist is generally a person held in high regard for their workmanship or knowledge in a certain area. Our expectations of a specialist are high and the outcomes a specialist achieves are better than a person with a general overall knowledge of a topic. So, with this in mind, who is considered a “renovation specialist”? To answer this, we should look at the definitions of both words, “renovation” and “specialist”. An online dictionary defines “renovate” as to restore to good condition, make new or as if new again, or repair. It can also mean to reinvigorate, refresh, or revive. It is used in the context of an object. The same dictionary describes a “specialist” as a person who concentrates primarily on a particular subject or activity, a person highly skilled in a specific and restricted field. So it fits to define a Renovation Specialist as a person, team or company who are highly skilled in reinvigorating an object. Renovations NZ have teams throughout New Zealand from Northland to Southland and everywhere in between of renovation specialists. Our people work day in and day out specifically on renovation projects. This constant exposure to renovations provides constant on the job training and helps us to create very strong teams of highly skilled renovators in the building field. It doesn’t matter whether you are looking to do just a bathroom renovation or a complete home renovation, we are the team for the job! If your renovation uncovers an unknown hazard, a tricky situation, a migraine sized problem, you can rest assured that Renovations NZ will...

Renovation At Fairlane Ave

Updating an older style home need not be a major mission. With some good choices and a great team behind your renovation you can achieve fantastic results. Over time homes become tired and dated looking. Day to Day living with people give them a rather worn-in feel – which can be homely or depressing. The line is rather fine. Our customers at Fairlands Avenue, Waterview asked Renovations NZ to rescue their house and make it a 2016 worthy home again. Check out the results! Seeing as the home had original hardwood flooring, it was a great choice to strip this back and re-polyurethane the wood to bring it back to its former glory. Often re-polyurethaning hardwood – if it is still in good condition – is a great investment. It is also a preferred choice if people in your home suffer from allergies. It does not harbour mites or collect dust like carpet does so is a healthier choice. We kept the colour palette for the walls a simple, modern, light grey. This reflects the sunlight that comes into the room and helps keep it bright and spacious feeling. Instead of pendant style lighting fixtures we went with modern downlights which work well with the contemporary feel of the home. The kitchen just screams WOW. It is contemporary, modern, with sleek lines and great usability. Choosing drawers for storage instead of cupboards is a great way of utilising space better – especially for those inconvenient kitchen items like pots and pans. Many home cooks complain of not having enough bench space – this is one thing you can’t complain...
