Auckland Builders Are Busy!

As pretty much everyone in New Zealand knows, houses in Auckland have been popping up left, right and center. Everywhere you turn, you will see construction, builds and new homes all around. Every building and renovation company is swamped with work and struggling to keep up. The housing crisis can be attributed to a number of factors, including very large numbers of immigrants coming to New Zealand in recent years. Builders have been doing everything they can to keep up with demand, but the demand keeps increasing. The government has announced plans to build 34,000 more homes in Auckland over the next 10 years to try to keep up with demand. What are some risks and issues this causes? This kind of demand and shortage creates a lot of surrounding issues such as very high pricing, both for houses and services such as building, lower quality of the work, due to them rushing to meet more demand and underqualified and unqualified workers being hired as there are just not enough qualified workers to do all the work. Many people are cross qualifying to make more money. Where there is a market there is business and as per the numbers above you can see that the building industry offers a lot of opportunity to many that want to earn more money. However, the negative side of this is that some individuals are less qualified and experienced and tend to charge the same amount as the experienced and qualified ones, while providing work that is not to the same level. What can you do to avoid these risks? There are several...

More and more people are starting to renovate their bathrooms to bring them up to date and take advantage of new technologies that have come in recent years. You can even make more space in your bathroom through remodeling! Where to begin? When renovating your bathroom, you will want to consider the following this: Budget – This is the first and most important thing to consider. Without it, there will be no renovation. Have a clear budget in mind and make sure that all things you select will fit within this. Time –  When do you want to start and when do you want the project finished by. You will want to account for hidden problems and issues that may arise. Design and functionality – The colors, style and bathroomware you choose. Here are some of our favourite bathroom renovations that we have been involved in recently. Hobson St, Auckland City Bathroom Renovation – A bathroom renovation recently tackled by our North Shore team, this bathroom was part of a full interior home renovation. Not to mention that it was well out of style. We updated the look by introducing a few carefully chosen colors, as well as all updated...

Hobson Street Home Renovation Project

Hobson Street Home Renovation Project
Our North Shore team recently completed an interior renovation of a home on Hobson St in Auckland City. This home, unlike a lot of the houses we do, wasn’t falling apart, but the owners felt it was time to bring some new life to the house and change the way it looked inside. It was definitely a dated look. Before As you can see, it was very plain inside and more than likely the original interior from when the house was first built. The whites in the bathroom were starting to get discolored, the carpet was getting dirty and a general makeover was due. Luckily for the owners, we were on the case! After We made use of various textures to add color and life to the home, from the dark wood floors to the marble look walls in the kitchen and bathroom. We introduced a few select colors to make a nice modern palette which has a bit more life than just painting everything white. New furniture was introduced throughout, finishing off the new theme. Would you like to renovate your home interior? If the time has come for you to begin rebuilding your home, here are some things to consider. Budget should be one of the very first things to take into account. Without a budget that will cover the cost of a renovation, you will not get very far. And you certainly don’t want to be left with a half done project, holes in your walls or uninstalled bathroomware! Time frame is something else that you should consider. Make sure you can live around the project...

Our South Auckland team has been on fire, pumping out project after project in the last couple of months. Here is another recently completed one, this time in the suburb of Otahuhu. Like many of our projects, this one was a complete renovation of the home’s interior, including the living room, kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms. After         As you can see, the interior has been completely redone with new flooring, wall and ceiling finishes and furnishings. The idea was to completely change the look in the house, bringing it from old fashioned to modern. The white base gives it a crisp look with highlights of color.
