Our customer wanted to create a new open plan kitchen with a centre island that ran into the lounge area, for their growing family. The old kitchen was tucked in the darker end of the house and the wooden finish kitchen made the area feel darker. We worked with the customer to design and move the kitchen into the main living are where there was more natural light. The customer also wanted the kitchen to be finished mainly in white, with a black mirror glass splashback for contrast.
It was also important to the customer that the kitchen was modernised, but also fit with the rest of their home. We ran the kitchen cabinetry to the ceiling to create the feel of more space and finished the coving with a detailed traditional trim. A large deep sink and new tapware to suit was installed in the centre island.
The area was finished off by sanding and polishing the wooden floors throughout to match the rest of the home.
The kitchen is the heart of the family home – and we were excited to be able to create a open plan, family area for our customer!
